If you want to use your PlayStation VR headset on the latest generation console from Sony, you need a special adapter. We explain how to get one.
–
The PlayStation 5 will be released on November 19 with support for the PlayStation VR headset. The VR glasses only work in combination with the original PS4 camera accessory and not with the HD camera that you can purchase for the PS5. For this to work, however, you need a special adapter, which Sony provides for free. This is how you provide a copy:
Sony has one website furnished to request the PlayStation Camera adapter. For this you need the serial number of your PSVR headset. This is on the back of the box that comes with the VR glasses. Of course you must also provide your address details so that the adapter can be sent to you.
Backwards compatibility
All VR games that you can play on the PS4 must also be playable on the PS5. DWVR and Robinson: The Journey are the exception to this, however. In addition to the camera for PS4, you also need a DualShock 4 controller or PlayStation Move controllers. If you don’t already have a PlayStation VR headset, you will have to purchase these items separately – just like the PS4 camera.
