Alternative ways for Tre Kronor to reach the quarter finals:
* Victory against the Russian Federation’s team (3 points) on Monday, while Slovakia loses to the Czech Republic on Tuesday. Then Sweden goes past Slovakia in a better mutual meeting.
* Victory against the Russian team at the same time as Slovakia wins against the Czech Republic. Then the Czech Republic can never go past Tre Kronor.
It will be more complicated if Slovakia – the Czech Republic ends in a draw at full time – if at the same time the Czech Republic has won Monday’s match against Denmark. Then Sweden is away from the quarterfinals because the Czech Republic then goes on thanks to the victory in the mutual meeting if the team ends up with the same points.
* Victory against the Russian team while the Russians against all odds lose against Belarus on Tuesday. Then several teams could end up with twelve points – and in that case a new table will be counted at the mutual meetings.
* If there is a victory against the Russian team, but only after extra time or penalties (2 points), advanced help is required in other matches. Then the match Denmark-Czech Republic must first end in a draw at full time – then the Czech Republic must lose Tuesday’s match against Slovakia. If one of the teams Denmark or the Czech Republic takes three points in the meeting, they are guaranteed to end up ahead of Sweden thanks to a better mutual meeting.
