Édouard Mendy, one of the protagonists in the second Champions League title, was received like a hero in Senegal, his native country, who showed affection to a rising idol of the African country.
Through his Instagram account, the Senegalese goalkeeper recorded his arrival, in which dozens of children gathered to show their affection and try to ‘hit’ one of his valuable hands.
He also showed the celebration made by his teammates, including another winner of the Champions League, but with Liverpool, such as Sadio Mané, who was proud of his compatriot.
The goalkeeper has become an example of improvement after having been about to ‘throw in the towel’ six years ago, and became champion of the Champions League, benching the goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga.
