The snow that so nicely settled on the slopes in both Eastern Norway and the Finnmark coast on Wednesday 22 December, remained in most places until Christmas Eve. Western Norway and Central Norway also received snow this week, the Meteorologists write on Twitter.
– A good deal of snow showers are expected until and including the second day of Christmas. Especially in parts of Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal, says state meteorologist Geir Ottar Fagerlid to Dagbladet.
He says that there will be heavy snow showers in the mountain areas in parts of Central Norway, and there may be many tens of centimeters of snow.
– It is dense with Christmas snow, and here it will be a really snowy Christmas, says Fagerlid.
– Who gets the best Christmas weather?
– Østafjells and Vestlandet, south of Nordfjord, get lots of sun, and in some places there is snow, so it is probably very nice weather here. But if there is a large amount of snow you are looking for, it is Central Norway and Northern Norway that have the best Christmas weather, the state meteorologist answers.
Central Norway: – Lots of snow
On Christmas Eve itself, snow and 4-7 degrees below zero have been reported in Trondheim.
– Møre og Romsdal and southern parts of Trøndelag will get quite a lot of snow in the next 48 hours. If you live in the area, snow removal will be a daily activity until the third day of Christmas, the meteorologists write on Twitter.
On the first day of Christmas, sun has been announced until 3 pm in Trondheim, and plus one degree all day. Also the second day of Christmas it is reported plus one degree.
On Tuesday 28 December, however, it will be down to eight cold in Trondheim again.

Western Norway: – Mild weather during Christmas
In Stavanger, the sun in the sky is one hour longer than in the capital on Christmas Eve – until 4 pm. A light breeze has been reported from the northeast until 2 pm, and the temperature is between 1 and 3 degrees Celsius throughout Christmas Eve.
For westerners, there will not be as much snow at Christmas, according to the state meteorologist.
– Until and including the second day of Christmas, there will be scattered showers in Western Norway, says Fagerlid.

According to Fagerlid, the snow in Østafjells will remain for a while longer.
– These are not the big changes in the weather ahead. It will be a while before Christmas before we get a change. It is generally cold and nice in southern Norway, and both in the eastern mountains and in the south it will be cold weather, he says.
In Oslo, it will be sunny both on Christmas Eve and on the weekend. It is reported 5-6 degrees below zero on Christmas Eve in the capital. The sun sets in the 15-degree wind, and there is a light wind from the southwest, which lasts until evening.
Also on the first and second day of Christmas, it will be sunny in Oslo, until 3 pm. It will be a couple of degrees warmer on Saturday, and around 6 cold on Sunday.
Coronajula: – Gets difficult
The state meteorologist says that it looks like there may be snow again in Østafjell on 28 December.
– It is very cold air in the east, middle and west. The low pressure in the west will be to the east, but the cold air in the east is heavy and has to move, he says.
For the week, it will be warmer in the air in Oslo from Wednesday 29 December, and around zero degrees for large parts of the day. In the evening it has been reported rain and plus one degree. The same goes for Thursday and Friday. Thursday it is reported plus one all day and Friday around zero.
North of Oslo østafjells, cold weather is expected during Christmas.
