There are 24 hours left to know the future of Daniel Sancho after a little over a year since he allegedly committed the murder and dismemberment of Edwin Arrieta. The sentence will decide what sentence he will have to serve and the expectation is at its maximum.
The verdict will be read out at 5am on Thursday, Spanish time, and Carlos Quílez has explained to us how it will be carried out.
The hearing will take place in the Koh Samui courtroom, the same place where the trial was held. Daniel Sancho will once again sit in the dock, while the president of the court will also be there, supported by two judges.
All the Thai defence lawyers will also be there, but not the Spanish ones, who will not be able to attend the courtroom. Rodolfo Sancho, who has confirmed that he has permission and will be there, and Silvia Bronchalo, who has permission but it is not known if she will attend, will be able to attend.
In addition, a diplomatic representative from the Spanish embassy in Thailand will be present. The verdict will begin to be read at five in the morning, Spanish time, and will end at around seven in the morning, Quílez said, when we already know the sentence.
Once the verdict is known, Daniel Sancho will spend a month in Koh Samui prison, during which time appeals can be filed.
