Montevideo City Torque beat Río Negro de San José 5-1 this Friday night at Parque Viera and thus, reached the quarterfinals of the AUF Uruguay Cup. The team led by Argentine Pablo Marini was clearly superior to its rival and dominated it from start to finish to achieve qualification.
The winners took the lead very early, already at 15 minutes through Nicolás Siri, although the Maragato team equalized almost immediately, at 17′ through Sebastián Rodríguez.
Nevertheless, The dominance of the Montevideo team was very clear.
Thus more goals began to arrive. At 24 minutes, Esteban Obregón scored the second, while at 38′, Siri once again stretched the difference to put his team up 3-1 and that’s how the first half ended.
The second half lowered the performance of both teams, but Franco Pizzichillo put the fourth in the 75th, and Lucas Pino the fifth when the match was over.
