Gareth Edwards’ futuristic sci-fi film ‘The Creator’ established itself as a favorite among visual effects professionals by dominating the competition at this year’s Visual Effects Society Awards (VES Awards).
The 20th Century Fox film took home five awards, including the top prize for best visual effects in a photorealistic film. In the film category, ‘The Creator’ took home five awards in different categories.
It was recognized for its created environment, model, composition and lighting and effects simulations. These awards highlight exceptional work in creating stunning and detailed visual worlds.

In addition to ‘The Creator’, other films were also recognized. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ won two awards, one for its digital character, Rocket, and another for its virtual cinematography.
For its part, ‘Oppenheimer’ took the award for best practical effects, while ‘Nyad’ was recognized for its supporting visual effects.
Besides. During the ceremony, special recognitions were presented. Joyce Cox, visual effects producer, received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to the industry. On the other hand, actor William Shatner was awarded the Creative Excellence Award.
