Back forward –
If companies around the world want to deal with affiliate marketing, there is no getting around Awin. The affiliate network is the largest in the world and has a turnover of over 11.1 billion euros. In the location portrait, we take a look behind the scenes.
Thomas Hessler, Heiko Rauch and Jens Hewald decided in 2000 to start a joint company. So they launched the affiliate platform Zanox in Berlin.
A decade later, the three founders left their start-up. But that didn’t stop Zanox’s success. On the contrary: In 2017 the two brands Zanox and Affiliate Window merged with Affilinet.
This led to the creation of the largest international affiliate network in the world around four years ago under the seduction of Marc Hundacker. The new name: Awin.
Behind the merger are two proverbial heavyweights in the German media industry. On the one hand, there is Axel Springer, which holds 80 percent of Awin and has invested in Zanox since 2007. The remaining 20 percent belong to United Internet, Affilinet’s former parent company.
