The second season of Gólkirályság was filmed last summer, at the Dunaharaszti soccer field, in sweltering heat. “It’s as if we’ve arrived home, as if a year hadn’t passed,” said Rozi Lovas, who plays coach Tóni Szabó.
The last part of the first season ended with the all-deciding match, the stake was whether the team would be promoted to NB1. The game was tied when Oletics kicked on goal, but it has not been revealed since then whether the ball went into the net.
“The second season will be full of all kinds of excitement and conflicts, it will be just as exciting, there will be a lot of football and matches. But there are also many personal life threads in it, from which my character, the mayor, takes a large part. There will be women’s issues,” revealed Gábor Hevér.
The filming was also preceded by a serious training program for the actors playing the football players, because the authentic recording of the scenes taking place on the field is physically demanding. In Fókusz’s report, we show how the actors trained themselves to become soccer players this time, as well as how:
- why they decided to have the real Tóni Szabó – played by Péter Rudolf – in the series;
- and what do the actors say to the curious viewers who have been speculating for a year whether the decisive shot at the end of the first season was fired.
