It was fun, writes Markus Söder on Instagram. On Tuesday evening, his much-noticed kebab meal with his Instagram followers took place.
Nuremberg – To celebrate his 500,000 follower mark, Markus Söder, Instagramstar and Bavarian Prime Minister, raffled off a kebab meal among his fans. He would go out to eat a kebab with 20 of them in Nuremberg. This took place on Tuesday evening, July 30th – and was, it seems, a complete success.

After the meal, Söder uploaded a video on Instagram – where else – showing the CSU leader with the 20 lucky winners of the raffle. Most of them are wearing the “Söder Kebap” shirt that had been distributed earlier.
In the video, Söder appears to be in a great mood and his 20 followers are also grinning happily into the camera. Söder wrote under the video: “20 kebabs with everything please! Today was a home game in Nuremberg at the second #SöderKebab kebab meal. It was a lot of fun.”

Users celebrate Söder’s kebab meal – but the CSU leader also has to listen to criticism
Within a few minutes, the video of Söder eating a kebab with his followers was clicked on and commented on several times. The mood among Instagram users in the comments section is predominantly positive. One user wrote: “Enjoy your meal to all participants, even if I’m bursting with envy.” It seems as if he had no luck in the raffle.
However, some comments note that the 20 followers who won the prize draw are not exactly diverse. “Only Söder youth, the only foreigners who prepared the kebabs,” reads one comment, for example. Other users ask when the rest of the T-shirts with the “Söder Kebap” print will finally be distributed – demand seems to be very high here.
All in all, the followers and Söder himself should consider the shared kebab meal a success – at least according to the video, everyone had a very fun and delicious evening. (fhz)
