This is how seismic activity has evolved on La Palma since Saturday | Radio Club Tenerife

The Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands (Involcan) confirms that, since Saturday, September 11 and until 08:00 this Thursday, more than 1,050 earthquakes have been located on La Palma. This is a new swarm of low-magnitude seismic events in the Cumbre Vieja volcano area.

Meanwhile, and For the first time, the Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands has been able to estimate the volume of magma that would be entering the Island. According to Involcan’s spokesman, David Calvo, it would be “eleven million cubic meters”, although it considers that we are facing a volume “relatively small”.

Despite the fact that Calvo warns that the danger is relative, the estimated eleven million cubic meters of magma would be equivalent to 3,259 Olympic swimming pools (each one has 3,375 cubic meters).
