Offenbach – The last day of the first leg of the 2022/23 season is approaching Kickers Offenbach receives in the home stadium Promoted to Eintracht Trier. The match kicks off at the Bieberer Berg Stadium on Friday (18 November) at 19:00.
Kickers Offenbach welcomes Eintracht Trier
Kickers Offenbach was successful away from home on the last match day and won the game at Bahlinger SC 2-1 with a late goal. As a result, OFC rises to fifth place in the Regionalliga Südwest table. The gap to leaders SSV Ulm is still nine points. OFC therefore needs victories to be able to get close to Ulmer.
Eintracht Trier lost 1-0 against KSV Hessen Kassel in front of their home crowd on the final day. The promoted team is currently 16th in the table with 13 points and is therefore in the fight for relegation. OFC enter the match as favourites, but the promoted side should not be underestimated, because for them every point counts to stay top of the table.
Most recently, there was a duel between Kickers Offenbach and Eintracht Trier in the 2016/17 season. In September 2016, the two teams drew 1-1 in front of 4,344 fans at the Bieberer Berg.
OFC: Jopek wants the next win
OFC professional Björn Jopek really wants the next victory in the Regionalliga Südwest: “We still have to catch up and we think from game to game. Now we want to score as many points as possible before the winter break and then work on what the coach wants to convey to us during the winter break”.
Ersan Parlatan, head coach of Kickers Offenbach, warns of Trier’s upcoming opponent: “It will be a difficult match because Trier obviously needs all the points for itself in its position. We have to bring our game onto the pitch in a targeted manner. We need of a playful approach, we need courage and conviction, determination in our game and we will work on this in today’s and tomorrow’s training sessions”. (smr)
