For a mere 20.5 million US dollars (approximately 19 million euros), Ben Affleck (51) has secured a new luxury villa in Los Angeles, in which he will live without his soon-to-be ex-wife Jennifer Lopez (55) after reports of an impending divorce surfaced. New photos obtained by the British Daily Mail give an insight into the magnificent and impressive residence.
The 6,000-square-foot property is located in the star-studded Pacific Palisades neighborhood. According to a report from People Magazine, Affleck signed the purchase agreement on J.Lo’s 55th birthday, July 24. However, the two-time Oscar winner took out a $10 million mortgage to close the deal.
Affleck’s magnificent new home in Los Angeles
According to Daily Mail, the impressive villa was built and designed in the early 1940s by renowned architect Cliff May (1909-1989). The previous owners spared no expense in renovating the building, which now offers five bedrooms and six bathrooms, a large garden with a pool and a pool house. The exterior facade is made of rustic stone tiles and bright white paint, while the large windows with black steel frames flood the interior with light.
The rooms are bright and modern, with warm wooden floors and wooden ceiling beams. Marble bathrooms, a fireplace, a spacious kitchen and an open staircase are some of the outstanding features of Affleck’s new home.
Divorce papers should be ready
The couple’s decision to sell their shared Beverly Hills estate was made public in mid-July when the property was listed on real estate platform Zillow. More recently, several insiders told the Daily Mail that Affleck and Lopez’s divorce papers are ready but have not yet been filed. They are reportedly waiting for the right moment.
