This is how lost Demi Moore felt in the film business at 40

Demi Moore (61) has been a fixture in Hollywood for many years. After her 40th birthday, however, the actress began to ponder on this issue. In a conversation with Interview Magazine she now reveals how her 40 years of life have affected her career in the dream factory. “I had filmed ‘Charlie’s Angels’ and there was a lot of discussion about my bikini scene. There was a lot of talk about how I looked,” the film star remembers, adding: “I then realised that there didn’t seem to be any room for me. I didn’t feel like I didn’t belong. It was more like I felt like, ‘I’m not 20, I’m not 30,’ but I wasn’t what the film industry considered a mother.” The “Ghost” actress admits that at 40 she felt “not dead, but empty” in the industry.

Demi is currently promoting her new horror film “The Substance”. In it, she plays a 50-year-old celebrity who manages to temporarily rejuvenate herself using an ominous substance – with dire consequences. In the interview, she describes the film as “a unique opportunity to deal with the topic of aging, social conditioning and the pressure of the male-idealized woman that we women have taken on ourselves.” The Hollywood star also addressed encouraging words to her: “There is great power in knowing that what we do to ourselves is a choice, and that we can make a different choice.”

With films like “Indecent Proposal” and “GI Jane”, Demi not only made her big breakthrough in the 90s, she was also crowned a Hollywood sex symbol. Today, the brunette beauty still turns men’s heads in droves. In June of this year, rumors began to circulate that she and Joe Jonas (35) were dating after the two were spotted together in Cannes. The singer in particular seems to be more interested in the actress. An insider told the magazine Life & Stylethat he is constantly seeking contact with her: “[Joe] has been texting her nonstop ever since, asking when they want to do something together again.” However, the 61-year-old is said to have concerns about the seriousness of a possible relationship with the Jonas Brothers star.
