This is how Lady Gaga’s infamous meat dress stayed on her body

For those who don’t remember: Lady Gaga wore this controversial gem at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2010. The idea came not from her mastermind, but from her make-up artist Val Garland. “She and I had been working together for a long time and she talked about the time she was in a sausage suit went to a party. I thought that was really funny so I said, ‘Well, that’s a great way to make sure everyone leaves you alone at a party,'” the singer told the British Vogue.

In the same interview, Lady Gaga also opens a book about how exactly that dress was designed. “There’s a corset underneath, but the corset was sewn to the flesh, so this is basically a piece of clothing,” she explains. “It’s not like they just draped flesh over me and crossed their fingers in hopes of blessing.”

The meat dress seems to make the news every year. Last year Gaga pulled the dress off for a video calling on Americans to vote in the election.
