Gucci’s flagship store in Florence is located in a real luxury alley: Prada on the left, Armani on the right, opposite a massive palazzo in which the American Jeff Koons is currently presenting stainless steel works of art that look like giant balloons. At Gucci, too, things are dazzlingly colorful – and sometimes puffed up: neon green fur in the shop window, pink carpet on the floor, red velvet on the wall.
