This is how Fortnite will be on the next generation of consoles

In May this year illuminated Epic Games that Fortnite would come out in an improved version of the new consoles, but without sharing technical details. Now the studio has done just that, in a new update on the website.

First and foremost, and perhaps not entirely surprisingly, Fortnite will be able to run in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

On the slightly weaker Xbox Series S, the game will support 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. Both the Xbox Series X / S and PlayStation 5 will also support Split Screen playback at 60 frames per second.

More dynamic

On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the game will also offer various other technical enhancements. The game world will become more dynamic and interactive, which means, among other things, that grass and trees will react realistically to explosions.

Epic can otherwise state that elements such as liquid and smoke will be simulated in a “cooler” way than before, and the game will also boast completely new storm and cloud effects.

The developer can promise that loading times will be significantly faster on all of the new platforms.

Fortnite will take advantage of the haptic technology of the PlayStation 5 control so that players can physically feel the differences between the weapons when you press the trigger button. On the Sony console, players can also go straight into the various game modes in Fortnite directly from the home screen via the new Activities feature.

According to Epic, the next-generation version of Fortnite will be ready for download when the new consoles are launched, and you will take all the progression to the new version with you.
