With over 500 films, 7,300 episodes and 40 Disney + Originals, the streaming service Disney + can now reveal the content that will be available in Norway at the launch on 15 September.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Hans Van Rijn, Senior Vice President of Disney in the Nordics and Baltics, revealed that subscribers will have access to several of Disney’s greatest classics.
The ordinary price for a subscription will be 69 kroner a month. A basic package at Netflix is 89 kroner a month.
– Disney + will fort become a hit among families with children, and a headache for Netflix. Here in the house, the 11-year-old has been asking for Disney + for months, says TV reviewer in Dagbladet Marie Kleve.

Many subscribers
Disney + will also be the streaming service for the Skywalker saga, and all Star Wars episodes will be available at launch.
Star Wars fans will also be able to see series, including the critically acclaimed series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, and the Disney + Originals series “The Mandalorian”, produced and written by Jon Favreau.
– Only “The Mandalorian” can probably get them many subscribers, says Marie Kleve.
She says it will be exciting to follow if there are any surprises.
– At first glance, it looks like you get a lot of content for the money. Disney + has a mix of quality content for adults and children that many other streaming services do not have, says Kleve.
Classics
For the first time, the Disney archive will be available for streaming in one place. From well-known and beloved classics such as “Cinderella”, “The Sword in the Stone” and “The Little Mermaid”, to new blockbusters such as “Frost” and “The Lion King (2019)”.
The long-awaited big movie Mulan has its Norwegian premiere on the service on 4 December. Fan favorites such as “Phineas and Ferb” and “Ole, Dole and Doffen on Adventures”, as well as dozens of Disney Channel series and short films will also be available.
Marie Kleve says that Disney + will hardly be the first choice for adults.
– The focus is primarily on blockbusters, easily accessible family movies and well-known Disney brands, so this is unlikely to be the first choice for adult connoisseurs. You know what you’re getting, and you’ll be looking for the big surprises for a long time. That’s why Disney + will be a much bigger competitor to Netflix, or NRK Super, for that matter, than to HBO Nordic, for example, she says.
