This is how “Cabecita” Rodríguez remembers his goal with La Maquina in the final

MEXICO CITY, January 12 (EL UNIVERSAL).- In three years that he was with Cruz Azul, Jonathan Rodríguez did not give any interviews or conferences before the media… The only one he did was more than emotional and he did it for the reason of his farewell.

The “Cabecita” leaves Mexican soccer to join Al-Nassr FC in Saudi Arabia, but before that he recalled the moment that will mark him as a player of La Maquina: His goal against Santos in the Guardianes 2021 final.

“It’s the most important goal (of his career) because I hadn’t had a chance to score in a final, a title goal… I was very happy because it’s something I’ll never forget, it’s a memory I’m going to take everywhere. Before I go to sleep for a while through the memories,” he declared while watching the score of that night at the Azteca Stadium.

“I got into the people who had waited so long. It was three years of mine, but for all those people… it was something very nice. It was something unique,” he declared about his celebration after the final whistle.

He also declared that his favorite goal was the one he converted when they thrashed America 5-2. An annotation where he raised the ball to Guillermo Ochoa.
