Time is running out for Andrés Felipe Arias, former Minister of Agriculture, sentenced to more than 17 years for irregularities in Agro Income Security (AIS), to know his judicial future. In the office of Gerson Chaverra, magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice, the almost 500 pages of the appeal that Arias presented, to overturn the sentence that has him deprived of his liberty, remain under study. Sources close to the process told this newspaper that, during the last months of 2022, the Decision Chamber in charge of the case could hear the second instance sentence project, a judicial development that Arias has demanded for years.
