Kevelaer 15-year-old Anne Aretz is attending the introductory phase of the Kardinal-von-Galen-Gymnasium and completed an internship at Kevelaer Marketing in the city administration.
Why did you apply for an internship at Kevelaer Marketing?

Anne Aretz I’m considering working in marketing later and looked at the local options. I live in Kevelaer, so unfortunately the options are limited. My mother then drew my attention to Kevelaer Marketing. The tourist website, events and campaigns aroused my interest, so I submitted an application straight away.

So you also want to work in the marketing industry in the future?

Aretz I’m still not sure about my career choice. At the moment I’m thinking about studying marketing, so I also wanted to do an internship in this field. So far I like the work very much.

What are your favorite subjects at school?

Aretz My advanced courses are English and History. These also reflect my interests. I’m learning a lot for the future, especially in English. In most of the jobs that interest me, you have to communicate internationally these days. The English language is an important tool for this.

What are your tasks and what do you like most about it?
–
Aretz During my internship, I mainly deal with the sights of Kevelaer and the development of possible “photo points”. These are places where people stop to take pictures of themselves in front of tourist attractions. I can let my creativity run free and am otherwise free in the implementation. I like it very much.

What is your favorite sight in Kevelaer?
–
Aretz I like the St. Jakob brine garden very much. In my free time I like to walk my dog there. I can also pursue one of my hobbies there – sport. I go to the gym regularly, but in the summer you can meet me at the outdoor sports equipment on the Hüls.
