Munich – Veronica Ferres (59) has already achieved a lot in her long career. Major film roles such as “The Superwoman” (1996) have been followed by numerous awards, including two Bambis and Golden Cameras. The 59-year-old made her film debut in her early twenties in the comedy “The Invisible” (1987). Another milestone is coming soon: the actress will celebrate her 60th birthday on June 10, 2025. She has now revealed what this means for Carsten Maschmeyer’s (65) wife.
Veronica Ferres still feels young inside
Ferres “couldn’t imagine” that she would turn 60 next year. Her inner child is still “very, very alive,” as she explained. “I am incredibly curious about new stories, about people, about other countries, about the adventure life,” she said.

The actress isn’t thinking of slowing down. Her new film project “The Unholy Trinity”, in which she appears in front of the camera with Pierce Brosnan (71), celebrated its premiere at the Zurich Film Festival. On Instagram Veronica Ferres then shared a photo of herself on the green carpet and wrote: “What a great premiere! We are overwhelmed by the support of everyone involved and would like to thank everyone who made this premiere an unforgettable experience!”

At the time, she wouldn’t have believed that she would undergo shooting training for the western, shoot with the “James Bond” actor and take on stunt scenes. She used to have a harder time in her job as a woman. “Nobody listened to me. If you said something, you were a nuisance,” reported Veronica Ferres. The Me Too movement has improved conditions in the industry, but not everything has been done yet. If she were at the beginning of her career today, Ferres would have struggled less with insecurities and had to stand up for herself less often.

Despite obstacles, she became a successful actress. Most recently, Ferres was awarded the Prime Minister’s Prize in January 2024 as part of the Bavarian Film Prize 2023.
