On October 22, one of the strongest voice owners in Latvia visited the Music Bank in absentia – Aminata, which gave the song to the listeners for evaluation “This is my time” starting cooperation with the music publisher Universal Music.
“This is my time” is a dynamic disco-inspired single that will be able to make the darkest time of the year a little brighter and more hopeful. The idea and the first versions of the song were made this spring, when Aminata, like most of the world, spent time at home alone, living with the limitations and ignorance created by the pandemic. The authors of the lyrics are Aminata and Mikus Frišfelds, while the authors of the music are Aminata and Rūdolfs Budze. The single was produced by Kim W.
I wrote the song “This is my time” at the very beginning of the quarantine. I organized a small songwriting camp alone in my apartment. This is the first song of my “private” camp, which I immediately realized will be my next single! The melody was written quickly, but I struggled with the text for a long time. I like to sing about how I really feel, because only then does the song fascinate me. During this time, I don’t feel like singing about love or anything inspiring. I feel chaotic, in ignorance. It seems that everything has stopped, but at the same time I have to keep working, do something, because life goes on. It has to be accepted, because this is the time I live in, ”says Aminata about the song’s message.
The cooperation with Universal Music Aminata is commented as follows:
