Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now in cinemas worldwide. One of the moments that fans had a lot of questions about (from the trailer) is a fight between Abomination and the Hulk. Now we can explain to you how that works.
Note: This article contains SPOILERS for the movie.
The first trailer revealed Abomination’s surprise return to the MCU. He fought Wong in what looked like some sort of tournament. But that moment doesn’t play out quite as you’d expect.
What about?
Well, it turns out the tournament belongs to an underground fight club run by Shang-Chi’s sister Xialing. We only see a few brief moments between Abomination and Wong fighting each other. The latter wins by using his opponent’s brute force against him.
Remarkably enough, it turns out that Wong and Abomination are friends. With that, it seems that the Abomination has become a different person. Or at least does his best to deal with his anger issues.
What that means for his role in Marvel series She-Hulk is of course still the question, but who knows, he may eventually turn out to be an ally for Jennifer Walters!
