On Monday, Minister of Justice Monica Mæland opened new Agder prison. It will be the country’s largest high-security prison for men with a total of 300 seats in Mandal and Froland.

(Fædrelandsvennen) – This is a huge step forward and a boost for the prison care. Basically, Norway has the best criminal care in the world, but Agder prison paves the way for criminal work in a whole new way, says Minister of Justice Monica Maeland Fædrelandsvennen.
100 of the seats have been added to the 65-acre Mandal department, while the remaining 200 will be located at the 95-acre Froland department.
