Office of the Attorney General (Attorney General) arrested former Director General of Railways at the Ministry of Transport Prasetyo Boeditjahjono in connection with the corruption case in the construction of the Besitang-Langsa railway line at the Medan Railway Engineering Center in 2015-2023. This case cost the state IDR 1.15 trillion.
Dirdik Jampidsus Abdul Qohar explained at a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office, Jl Sultan Hasanuddin, South Jakarta, Sunday (3/11/2024), that Medan Railway Technical Center class 1 (BTP) was building Trans Sumatra Railways railway line. , one of them was the Besitang-Langsa.
“The development budget is IDR 1.3 trillion, which comes from SBSN, state sharia security,” said Qohar.

In the process of building the railway line, Prasetyo received a fee through PPK of IDR 2.6 billion from PT WTC. “Due to the actions of Brother PB, the construction of the railway could not work, causing a state loss of IDR 1.15 trillion,” he continued.
Previously, the Attorney General’s Office arrested and named Prasetyo as a suspect in an alleged corruption case for the Medan Railway Engineering Center’s Besitang-Langsa railway construction project in 2015-2023 .
“We will pressurize PB at the Salemba Detention Center for the next 20 days,” said Abdul Qohar.
For his actions, Prasetyo was suspected of violating Article 2 or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 regarding the eradication of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2021 regarding amendments to Law No. 3q of 1999 regarding the eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
