This month of October, there are numerous productions intended to brighten up your Halloween evenings. But others are more worth it than others, like this new series by James Wan: it has even been validated by Stephen King, the man considered the master of horror in literature.
The master of horror validates this new series
The one considered the master of horror has spoken. Last week, author Stephen King spoke on the social network X to recommend the television series Teacup, which began broadcasting on October 10.
TEACUP: If you like FROM or LOST, I think you’ll enjoy this. It’s strange, creepy, claustrophobic, and scary. Beware the Gas Mask Man. Short episodes. All killer, no filler. (Peacock–bows October 10th)

TEACUP: If you like FROM or LOST, I think you will like this movie. It’s strange, scary, claustrophobic and scary. Watch out for the man in the gas mask. Short episodes. Only killing, no filler.
Stephen King believes that if Teacup shines, it is through its rhythm and the density of its episodes. He suggests that there is always something going on. Something that the series owes to its format, far from the usual 60 minutes. In fact, there are eight episodes of 30 minutes each.
The Conjuring director on the project
Teacup is a television adaptation directed by Ian McCulloch starring Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter, Chuck, The Handmaid’s Tale or even Miranda Lawson in Mass Effect) et Scott Speedman (Felicity, You, Grey’s Anatomy). We also find James Wan as executive producer, known for his involvement in the franchise Saw et The Conjuring. In a press release he stated the following:
After reading the short story Stinger by Robert McCammon, the entire Atomic Monster team (production house, editor’s note) had the spark. The story has all the ingredients to make the series something captivating (…)
In fact, Teacup is therefore the adaptation of the short story Stinger by Robert McCammon. It depicts the lives of several people across Texas and how they must come together in the face of a new foreign threat.
