Illustration of swollen eyes
JAKARTA, kilat.com- A stye is a pimple-like bump on the eyelid.
These lumps can be painful, red, and swollen, causing watery eyes.
Styes often appear on the outer eyelid, but sometimes they can also appear on the inner eyelid
Styes are often caused by a bacterial infection that grows at the root of the eyelash.
In fact, stye does not occur due to the habit of peeking, as some people believe.

A stye usually lasts for a few days before it finally heals.
It is not recommended that you pop the stye, as this will only create more problems.
The fluid that comes out of the lump will spread the infection around the site of the stye.

2. Compress with warm water
You can soak a clean towel previously soaked in warm water.
Squeeze until the water is no longer dripping, then place the towel over the site of the stye.
The warm temperature of the water will help loosen the pus in it and deflate the stye naturally.
You can compress the eye area with this eye stye for 10 minutes, about four times a day.
3. Gently clean the eyes
You can help treat a stye by diligently cleaning the site of the infected eye.
You can do this by using clean water and mild soap.
Do it with your eyes closed so as not to cause irritation.
You also need to avoid using make-up or lotion around the eyes, as well as wearing contact lenses, to prevent the spread of infection. (Lutfi Mahathir)
