Blink-182, a ‘post-punk’ group that was recently at Tecate Pa’l Norte, announced that one of its concerts scheduled for the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City was canceled due to Mark Hoppus’ health problems.
At the beginning of April, after having participated in the Tecate Pa’l Norte, the members of Blink-182 arrived in Mexico City to give four concerts at the Palacio de los Deportes. Even the band’s drummer, Travis Barker, took advantage of his visit to eat at a vegan restaurant and visit Teotihuacán.
The band gave its first concert on the night of April 2, but for this Wednesday, the organizers announced the cancellation of the event. This is the second time that the band has canceled one of its events, the first time was a year ago, when Travis Barker suffered an accident.
What happened to Blink-182’s second concert in CDMX?
Through a statement, published on Ocesa’s social networks, Blink-182 announced that the concert on April 3 is canceled, but that they will continue with the other presentations as planned.
“Dear fan, tonight’s Blink-182 event at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City has been canceled due to illness,” the statement reads at the beginning.
According to information from Ocesa, those who have purchased their ticket online will see their refund automatically reflected on the card with which the purchase was made.
“This refund will be reflected according to the times established by your banking institution. If you made your purchase at ticket offices or Ticketmaster Centers, you can go and request your refund starting Monday, April 8, in the same place where you made the purchase.”

Why did Blink-182 cancel their second concert in CDMX?
Although it was not initially revealed which member of Blink-182 fell ill, some fan pages shared screenshots of the Discord channel of Mark Hoppus, in charge of the band’s electric bass.
In those images, Mark Hoppus revealed that he was not feeling well and that he had some sore throat.
“I feel great except my throat, (it feels like) fire every time I swallow or talk… it’s all in my throat and upper breathing,” wrote Mark Hoppus, who revealed that he was already undergoing medical treatment.
Likewise, through some videos that attendees of Blink-182’s first concert shared on social networks, you can hear that Mark Hoppus’s voice sounds different.
When are the other Blink-182 concerts in CDMX?
Despite having canceled their concert on April 3, Blink-182 still has a couple of performances pending.
Originally, these Blink-182 concerts were going to take place last year; However, after Travis Barker was hospitalized with an injury to his hand, the band made the decision to delay their current tour.

Currently, on the Ticketmaster platform, there are still some tickets available for Blink-182’s concerts in Mexico; after these presentations, the band will move to the United States to continue their tour.
