This Friday Esther Merino brings the song of the mines to the CyL Steel and Mining Museum

The cantaora Esther Merino, winner of the ‘Lampara Minera’ at the Cante de las Minas de La Union (Murcia) in 2022, the most important international flamenco award, will perform this Friday at the Museo de la Siderurgia y la Minera in Castile and Leon.

Esther Merino was born in Góvora, Badajoz, in 1984, she started singing at a very young age, always restless for the art world and surrounded by a family of good fans, the center reports in a statement sent to Europa Press.

At the age of 17 she began taking the stage and developing what she now considers her calling, flamenco singing. She has always been concerned with learning the secrets of the art of flamenco, she recognizes her main references in Antonio Mairena, La Paquera de Jerez, Fosforito, Fernanda and Bernarda de Utrera, Chano Lobato, Esperanza Fernndez.

He has performed at numerous national and international festivals, even touring the flamenco clubs of Spain, sharing the bill with the greatest.

In 2022, at the International Festival of Cante de las Minas de La Unión, he won the highest award, the prestigious Lámpara Minera and, in addition to this, he won awards for Mineras, Tarantos, Cartagena and Bajo-Andalusian cantes.

The show will take place next Friday, December 30th at 7pm. Tickets cost five euros and will be on sale at the museum.
