this Ferrari is worth more than a new car

When a car is this rare and legendary, it is worth a lot of money even if found in a poor condition! The proof comes from this “barn find” which unfortunately did not happen under ideal circumstances, look at this photo.

It is not reduced like this, it is worse! (Wrecked Exotics)

On average, a used car it can lose between 60 and 70 percent of its initial value within four or five years, depending on the model we are talking about and how rare it is and – needless to say – the conditions in which you keep it. You can also buy a latest generation Porsche Carrera, if you leave it to collect rust and dust in an abandoned garage no one will ever buy it at the price you ask!

Apparently, however, this discourse does not apply to certain models which seem to keep their initial value more or less intact even after years of inactivity, dust, rust and so on and so forth. Let’s take the Ferrari we are talking about today: when you see the photo you will never believe the price the owner has set to get rid of it.

There is one important thing to say, however, before proceeding: certain cars have become so rare and loved by collectors over the years that from being used … their value has only grown! The series Ferrari 250 for example, it is famous for being the one with the most expensive cars ever seen in the world: produced between the fifties and sixties, the 250 family includes cars with price tags ranging between around 300,000 and one million euros!

The restoration? Your cabbages …

The car we see in the photo is one Ferrari 250 GTE from 1962, a model particularly coveted by collectors which unfortunately did not stand up well to the challenge against time. Also the fault of the previous owner who for some reason unknown to us left it all alone in a barn without even a cloth to protect it from rust. The result is that the paint is covered with a moss that is particularly difficult to remove …

The nightmare of the owners of a luxury car in short: it seems difficult to think that the car it was once painted in a pleasant blue livery now buried under that English lawn that is on its frame. And it was even more difficult to believe that this scrap, which also lacks many mechanical components, was sold for a total of £ 110,000!

Considering that such a car in good condition can be worth it even three or four times this figure, however, makes us think that the new owner knows something that we ignore. Or maybe he simply has great mechanical knowledge and a good reserve of spare parts so the restoration of this specimen will not cost him too much money. In any case, we are curious to see the car restored to its original splendor: how long will it take for you?
