The Cáritas bingo, 70 years of solidarity
After two years without being able to celebrate due to the pandemic, our bingo It looks radiant on the Paseo de la Feria. It does so with new lights and curtains, and is proud to fill the Albacete Fair with enthusiasm for 70 years and, above all, to create opportunities and hope for marginalized people or those at risk of social exclusion.
The tombola has put 550,195 tickets on sale this year, a figure that we hope to sell, thanks to the solidarity that the city and towns of Albacete have shown at all times, as well as people from other communities who visit this space every year.
To this solidarity, we add four other fundamental pillars on which it rests to make it possible, year after year, for the lottery to become a reality:
– Entrepreneurial generosity, because despite the vast majority of prizes being bought, bingo is increasingly supported by the entrepreneurial fabric. This year, 135 companies have collaborated, donating 8,000 prizes out of the 135,154 that will be awarded this year.
– The institutional support of the Municipality of Albacete, facilitating any managerial and administrative procedure for the implementation of this new edition.
– Globalcaja, a collaborating entity that covered ticket printing costs.
– The more than 320 volunteers who organize and sell the cards, without whom it would be impossible to play the bingo.
This year there will be more than 120 different direct prizes, among which, in addition to traditional food products, the origin of tombola, there will be prizes made by volunteers in different workshops, others exchangeable in the insertion companies of the Fundación El Immaginador , such as breakfasts in Romero, meals in restaurants in Albacete, Elche de la Sierra or Letur, or discounts at the Fuera de Serie Moda re clothing store, and an important presence of local products, such as handicrafts, stays in rural houses, wine , cheese … And of course there will be a motorcycle, computers, bicycles and even a car.
And it is that he always plays in the bingo. One out of 4 cards contains a direct prize, and in the rest there is the possibility of obtaining them, collecting the word Cáritas, joining Cortijo Covaroca or participating in the 3 lotteries that will be held this year
Behind each of the tickets on sale this year there are not only prizes, but also opportunities, generosity, training, enthusiasm and hope. And, also, employment like the lottery is a job opportunity for the 17 people that were hired this year, 10 of them from our job bank.
