This Fair is committed to people

The Cáritas tombola, 70 years of solidarity

After two years without being able to celebrate due to the pandemic, our Tombola looks radiant on the Paseo de la Feria. It does so with new lighting and curtains, and is proud to have been filling the Albacete Fair with enthusiasm for 70 years and, above all, creating opportunities and hope for people in exclusion or at risk of social exclusion.

The tombola has put 550,195 tickets on sale this year, an amount that we hope to sell, thanks to the solidarity that the city and towns of Albacete have shown at all times, as well as the people from other communities who visit this space every year.

To this solidarity, we add another four basic pillars on which it rests to make it possible, year after year, for the tombola to become a reality:

Business generosity, because although the vast majority of the prizes are bought, the tombola has more and more support from the business fabric. This year, 135 companies have collaborated by donating 8,000 prizes out of the 135,154 that will be awarded this year.

– The institutional support of the Albacete City Council, facilitating any management and administrative procedure for the implementation of this new edition.

– Globalcaja, a collaborating entity that has covered the cost of printing the tickets.

– The more than 320 volunteers who are involved in the organization and sale of ballots, without which it would be impossible to carry out the tombola.

This year there will be more than 120 different direct prizes, among which, in addition to the traditional food products, the origin of the tombola, there will be prizes made by volunteers in different workshops, others exchangeable in the insertion companies of Fundación El Sembrador, such as breakfasts in Romero, meals in restaurants in Albacete, Elche de la Sierra or Letur, or discounts at the Fuera de Serie Moda re clothing store, and an important presence of local products, such as crafts, stays in rural houses, wine, cheese… And of course there will be a motorcycle, computers, bicycles and even a car.

And it is that in the tombola, it always plays. One of every 4 ballots contains a direct prize, and in the rest there is the option of getting them, gathering the word Cáritas, joining Cortijo Covaroca or participating in the 3 raffles that will be held this year

Behind each of the tickets that are put up for sale this year there are not only prizes, but also opportunities, generosity, training, illusion and hope. And, also, employment as the raffle is a job opportunity for the 17 people who have been hired this year, 10 belonging to our job bank.
