shipping JansenWho wins which trial, goes hungry the most, or forges the meanest schemes to vote out others? Journalist Dennis Jansen looks into the column Shipping Jansen return on a weekly basis Robinson Expedition.
HUNGRY
What does he do Robinson Expedition with you? I ask myself that every year. What happens when you are hungry? Do you have to live in a group for three weeks? Or camp alone on an (abandoned) island? Will you behave differently? I have no idea, but take Vincent Vianen, who was eliminated, that lovable guy from the first few weeks. Why was he so surly, almost hostile, first towards Thijs Boermans and now towards Dzifa Kusenuh? What happened anyway? Wasn’t he taking the game a little too seriously? He is in stark contrast to the candidates who – as the final approaches – suddenly seem to have forgotten the game. Why: Why the hell are you voting Harry Piekema out? With all due respect: this black vote-gatherer who has never won a test (individual), has always been in the back, is that what you want as an opponent?
KEPT
I have often praised them, the composers of music Robinson Expedition. We saw Dzifa who had to figure it out himself on Afvallerseiland. He started chopping wood, building his own shelter, gathering food. She straightened up and what music accompanied her? Yup: I am woman. By Helen Reddy, but delightfully played by Trïbe You’ve heard the singer sing I am strong, I am invincible. And that was for Dzifa, who took care of herself and beat Vincent, but certainly also for April Darby. She got tangled in a knot during the test, but she fought back and escaped the black voice. Two formidable comebacks by two powerful women. They can reach the final for me.
DRESS OF HEART
Those talking shots in between the action shots, could they be a little less? I’m just witnessing an exciting battle in rehearsals, running, flying, fooling around, yet another candidate enters the scene to recite the (prescribed?) text: what are they doing, what are they thinking, and what are they gonna do, blah. Ditto with the shots for the puzzle (did I already say it’s ‘pùzzel’ and not ‘púzel’?), they go too fast. It cannot be followed: I want to. Most puzzling! But that aside. Heartache was with Harry Piekema. Bumped just in view of the finish line. Although … he still has a chance. One last.
