This Dodge Challenger sees the light after 40 years in a barn

Youtube / Wags Automotive

It has become a strange habit to find classics like this after decades of abandonment in a barn. Sometimes they even go as far as 40 years how has it happened to this Dodge Challenger de 1970 which, as can be seen, has not been doing well over time with a large amount of dirt. Fortunately now, after coming to light again after four decades of confinement, it is finally removing all that layer of dirt to return to its original state.

40 forgotten although in pretty good condition

It is difficult to evaluate the condition of a car after spending 40 years standing still and without any care, although that is indoors, but it is clear that, unlike others barn find where there was a lot more work ahead, this Challenger sports a structurally intact body with no visible rust, but with an enormous amount of dust, dirt and bird droppings in areas such as the hood and roof.

Your engine V8 apparently not working anymore, but otherwise the car seems ready to move, so the cost of restoration to put it back on the streets it seems acceptable.

Seeing the light for the first time

So those responsible for the model and the finding have shown us in video the moment this Challenger sees the light for the first time in 40 years as well as a second video showing the model freshly washed for the first time in all that time.

That’s when we can see the true effects of 40 years of oblivion in a shed, with some scratches, blemishes and small areas with rust although showing that otherwise the car looks really good. Now it will be a small step through sheet metal and paint – and surely a new engine and some small change of parts – to have a Challenger from the 70s as if it were new.
