Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Recently India reportedly held large scale military exercises with armed forces & paratroopers in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
This is a concern because the Bollywood country’s military training area is located not far from Sabang Island, Aceh province, Indonesia, which is about 700 kilometers.
Launching the Times of India, this joint exercise between the army, navy and air force (IAF), coast guard and special forces corps was carried out to test the mobilization, operations and combat readiness of members.
This was done to validate and rehearse various plans and contingencies in a realistic tactical setting under the overall command and control of the joint Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), the country’s sole joint operations command or theater of service.
ANC Commander Lieutenant General Ajai Singh said troops from the army, navy and air force would be mobilized for amphibious landings during combat maneuvers.
Meanwhile, his paratroopers also conducted an air strike on the Andaman island region on Wednesday (22/12/2021) last morning.
India started to upgrade their military amid the ongoing military confrontation with China in eastern Ladakh from April-May 2020.
The ANC was established as India’s first joint geographic command in October 2001. However it has not yet reached its potential due to territorial wars between the three Forces, general political-bureaucratic apathy, financial crisis, and environmental concerns.
