The three buildings from 1964 look new. The Moulins Gémeaux residence has 137 accommodations, from studios to six-room apartments. But this obviously represented a cost: 140,000 euros. “Of course, we had a million euros in cash. We also got 2.2 million euros in aid. But we could only touch them when the work was completed. It was therefore necessary to propose to the co-owners to take out a twenty-year loan with small monthly installments. »

However, half of low-income families were not all ready to make such investments. This is what finally allowed us to get 105 votes in favor of the work out of 137 at the general meeting in October 2018″.
Mariette – the name has been changed -, 74, voted in favor and does not regret it. “As I live just above the bike room and the entrance hall, I felt an enormous difference in terms of comfort”, testifies the tenant of the residence. “My attic bedroom is much less cold. However, as energy prices have risen, he hasn’t noticed any difference in his bill: gas consumption for heating has been reduced by 40%.
