According to Jorge Pérez, who has more than 20 years of experience as a driver and currently drives Masaya buses, it is a fact that if the papers are not in order, a driver runs the risk of a fine.
“If you do not have a sticker, the mechanical inspection or gas emission or if they work, but expired, a fine will be applied to you, which you can pay within 30 days only,” he stresses.
Likewise, he says that it is difficult to talk to the police, “because if they want and feel like it, they could transfer you to the warehouse for that offense, which would be illegal.”

The steering wheel expert assures that the Traffic Law says that if the documents are not in order, a legal fine will be applied, but taking the vehicle to the deposit should not occur, because it implies more delay and the fine goes the same.
For his part, another driver consulted, named José Calero, states that not having documents in order is subject to a fine or “if they want, they can take the vehicle to the depot and who is going to say something to the Police that have?”.
Types of fines
Article 25 of Law 431, Vehicular Circulation Regime and Traffic Violations, classifies traffic violations into three types: the most dangerous, dangerous, and traffic violations.
For its part, article 26 “Value of fines for traffic violations” details the values of fines for violations, according to their categories, which vary.
In point 53, it details that driving with an invalid revised sticker will have a fine of 320 córdobas.
In point 63, it indicates that driving without the bearing tax payment sticker will cost 100 córdobas.
Driving without carrying license plates or a circulation license will cost 320 córdobas, driving while intoxicated 1,500 córdobas, overtaking slopes, curves or bridges 400 córdobas, causing accidents and fleeing 1,500 córdobas, among others.

Authorized to fine
Likewise, article 133 details that the National Police is authorized to retain any vehicle that circulates in the country without license plates or without the registration sticker, or that does not provide the corresponding documentation or proof that it is in Procedure.
Otherwise, the owner or holder must clarify the origin, provenance and location of the vehicle. It will also retain those vehicles that do not carry the respective driving license.
Drivers urge to ride “in order”
To avoid unnecessary fines, Calero calls on the population to take a chance and give their vehicle the necessary inspection, since by performing the mechanical inspection and gas emission review, it serves to prevent accidents caused by mechanical failures.
The mechanical inspection and review of gas emissions can cost you 650 córdobas.
This review is required by Law 431, Regime of Vehicular Circulation and Traffic Violations.
The bearing sticker is a municipal tribute, which authorizes people to circulate on the road network.
