Jakarta –
Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, recently purchased the entire city of Mustang, Texas, which has a population of just 21 people.
Cuban explained that the reason he bought the area was because a friend needed to sell it.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do with it,” Cuban said.
The Mustang is a 77 hectare blank canvas for Cuban.
Founded in the early 1970s, most of the city is known as a water source for dry Navarro County.
While currently at Mustang there is only a trailer park and strip club, Wispers Cabaret, which is reported to be in disrepair. Not only that, the city also has other residents, namely crocodiles who live in one of the ponds.
From that city, if you want to go to the nearest tourist spot, you have to travel 45 minutes to the north.
It’s unclear what Cuban paid for the city, but for someone with a net worth of nearly $6 billion, buying the city doesn’t seem like a big deal to him.
The city was reportedly put up for sale in 2017 for $4 million, but Turner said it was too expensive, even as they cut the listing price in half.
