This applies to amateur sport – SWR Sport

The Corona rules for amateur sports in Rhineland-Palatinate were updated at the end of January. SWR Sport explains the new regulations.

The number of infections with the corona virus is still high, and the regulations currently remain correspondingly strict. The Ministry of the Interior distinguishes between indoor and outdoor sports activities. There are also different event conditions.

In general, there is a maximum audience limit of 1,000 people for all events. If there is a mask requirement, only surgical masks, FFP2 masks or other equivalent models are permitted.

Indoor events

Indoor events can only be attended by vaccinated and recovered people with a current negative test result. The following groups of people are exempt from this:

Children up to twelve years and three months are considered vaccinated and do not need a test certificate. Adolescents up to the age of 17 who have been vaccinated or have recovered do not have to be tested either. Unimmunized children and adolescents may be present up to a total of 25 people if they can show a negative test.

If the mask is worn continuously, there is no obligation to test for vaccinated and recovered adults. It is important to note, however, that the mask must not be removed for a short time in order to consume food and drinks. In the case of short-term acceptance, the obligation to test applies again.

Outdoor events without fixed seating

Only those who have been vaccinated or those who have recovered are admitted to outdoor events without fixed seating. This does not apply to minors – they do not need a current, negative test either. The mask may only be removed to eat or drink.
The number of spectators should be coordinated in advance with the responsible district or city administration.

Events in the outdoor area with fixed seats including admission control or ticket sales

Here, too, only vaccinated and recovered people are admitted. For children and adolescents up to the age of 17, it is sufficient if a negative test result is presented. The mask must be worn at all times, but may be removed at short notice for eating and drinking. The organizer is obliged to present a hygiene concept before the event.

Those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered can continue to exercise if they present a recent negative test result. This does not apply to children up to twelve years and three months. Vaccinated or recovered young people up to the age of 17 are also exempt. Non-immunized children and young people are allowed to participate in sports if they present a recent negative test result.

Employers and employees, i.e. full-time trainers, work within the framework of the 3G rule. However, if they take part in the physical activity themselves, the 2Gplus regulation also applies to them.

outdoor area

Minors and vaccinated adults are allowed to play sports outdoors without having to pay attention to any restrictions. Non-immunized adults, on the other hand, are only allowed to do sports alone, together with members of their own household, and with a maximum of two people from another household.
