This app brings the iPod – Belgium iPhone back to life

An app is causing a stir, thanks in part to TikTok. It allows you to turn an iPhone or Android smartphone into an iPod.

For the more nostalgic, the first iPod was launched in 2001. In 2021 it also celebrated its 20th birthday. The latest model came out in 2019 and in May 2022 the Cupertino company officially ended production, explaining that the product would go on sale as long as supplies last.

Strong return of the iPod thanks to TikTok

RetroPod’s interface is inspired by that of the original iPod and also includes the Click Wheel. Plus, you no longer need to download songs to listen to them on this virtual iPod. In fact, the songs are taken from Apple’s streaming service, Apple Music. Spotify is not supported by the app.

Thanks to the TikTok social network, the popularity of the application is skyrocketing. It’s already moved up a few places in the rankings as I write these lines. For those who miss listening to the iPod, you will have to be patient. The application is not available on the Belgian Apple Store. Until that happens, here’s a live demo of the app!
