The new American brand Oceanix, which was founded in 2023, launched its first collection of diving watches, the Frog 300. It stands out for its unique features, including its ability to save lives.
Founded by Joseph Bolart, a mechanical engineer and graduate in industrial design, Oceanix was born from a passion passed down from his grandfather. From the age of 7, Bolart shared with him his love for watchmaking, a passion that pushed him to design his first collection dedicated to scuba diving: the Frog 300. What does this collection have in store? Will it be able to compete with the giants of watchmaking?
Frog 300, the diving watch with unique lightness
The Frog 300 is intended for scuba diving thanks to its water resistance up to 300 meters deep. Its robust case of 45 mm par 15,8 mm and its 42.9 mm lug distance ensure a notable presence on the wrist, while its rubber strap, offset for greater comfort, makes it easier to wear.
Its main asset for divers? A helium escape valve, essential for prolonged dives. Made of grade 4 titanium, stronger and lighter than the grade 5 usually used, this watch combines durability and lightness.
Equipped with anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the Frog 300 guarantees optimum readability, even in low light, thanks to its hands covered with SuperLumiNova. The watch also incorporates an internal rotating diving bezel, controlled by a blue crown located at 10:30, functional even underwater. On the mechanical side, it is equipped with a automatic caliber True GMT 9075 MIYOTAoffering a 42-hour power reserve with an accuracy of +15/-10 seconds per day.
An integrated system that could save lives
One of the major innovations of Oceanix lies in the integration of the system ID+Sys. This device, equipped with an NFC chip, allows vital data to be stored which can be consulted even from the lock screen of a phone.
“Instant access to vital information is essential to saving lives,” especially when you consider that you don’t carry your phone while diving, so the system will share all the necessary information in case of complications. “A simple tap on the watch will display your vital information to rescuers, and since it doesn’t require a battery or cellular signal to operate, it’s definitely very reliable.”
What does this collection contain in its entirety?
The catalogue d’Oceanix offers eight variants, six of which are available at a price of 1 293,56 euros. Each model is distinguished by a unique dial and color, offering a wide choice to diving enthusiasts. The colors are there for this collection, green, orange or even fluorescent yellow, the pep is there with the Frog 300.
Additionally, two limited editions complete this collection and these are at a slightly higher price.
The pinnacle of the OX Frog 300
The Limited Edition of the Frog 300 NASAinspired by the mission Artemispays homage to space exploration with only 254 copies in reference to the mission Orion expected in 2025. This watch is offered at 1 406,34 euros.
Finally, the Frog 300 Série Orlimited to 24 pieces per yearfeatures a grade 3 titanium case with a 750 white gold caseback alloyed with platinum. Each copy is signed and numbered, delivered with a lifetime warranty at the price of 8 203,65 euros.
