POSBELITUNG.CO – Airline Delta Airlines operated a special charter with Airbus A319 aircraft last Thursday (10/6/2021).
Hosted by magazine Sky & Telescope, the plane flew over Canada to see the amazing phenomenon after sunrise, namely an annular solar eclipse.
Launch page Simple Flying, the plane left Minneapolis from Paul International Airport (MSP) at 03:15 local time.
An astronomer Glenn Schneider was assigned to calculate the route.
Schneider is known to have years of experience chasing solar eclipses since the early 1970s.
He has been on the path of totality to see the solar eclipse 33 times.
According to data from RadarBox.com, the plane spends 3 hours 22 minutes in the air.
Just after sunrise, Pilot Art Smith slightly tilted the plane’s right wing.
Tilting the wings down allows passengers sitting on the right side of the plane to have the opportunity to witness the complete annular eclipse.
Meanwhile, there were no passengers on the left side.
