A football match was going so fiercely that the refereewho is known to be very strict and will serve World Cup 2022raised 10 Red card.

The match that sparked a “shower of red cards” took place in Argentina over the weekend. There are two rivals, Boca Juniors and Racing Club, who face off in the final of the Trofeo de Campeones.

In regular time the two teams drew 1-1. The match was to be completed in extra time, although it had to be finished earlier due to red card regulations.

At 2-1 in favor of the Racing Club, the referee Facundo Tello had to stop the game a few minutes from the end for the last red card. FIFA rules state that teams cannot continue if there are fewer than seven players on the pitch.

By that time, Boca had already earned seven Red card, including bench players. Meanwhile, the Racing Club had three players who received red cards from referee Tello.

According to RT.com, the “rain of cards” came after Sebastian Villa from Boca and Johan Carbonero of Racing, in the 95th minute, after a heated argument between the two.

It is believed that the Argentine football authorities will also impose penalties on both teams due to the players’ indiscipline issues in the final match.

Referee Facundo Tello himself has a reputation as a very disciplined and firm court referee in Argentine football. In 118 South American football games he has shown 612 yellow cards and 45 Red card.

Tello’s name will be one of the referees who will serve World Cup 2022 Qatar, which will start on November 20th.
