Thiruvananthapuram District Wins Overall Championship in State Road Cycling Championship

The overall championship is for Thiruvananthapuram district

Thodupuzha: Idukki district emerged runners up in the state road cycling championship held at Kallurkkad Kota Road in the last two days. Thiruvananthapuram district is the overall championship. Dean Kuriakos MP inaugurated the competitions. Kerala Cycling Association President S.S. Sudheesh Kumar presided. Block Panchayat President K.G. Radhakrishnan, Gram Panchayat President Sujith Baby, Vice President Jhansi Jomi. Kerala State Cycling Association officials B. Jayaprasad, N. Ravindran, Vinodkumar, District President Adv. Jorli Kurian, Secretary A.P. Muhammad Basheer and others gave speeches. Block Panchayat Member Prof. Jose Augustine, Grama Panchayat Standing Committee Chairman Sunny Sebastian, GB AK, members George Francis, Shiny James, Babu Manakkaparampan and Premalatha Prabhakaran distributed the prizes. The overall winners of the championship, Thiruvananthapuram and Idukki district teams, the runners-up, were awarded by Block Panchayat Member Prof. Jose Augustine presented the trophies. Around 250 cyclists from different parts of the state participated in this long distance cycling competition. From these competitions, the state cycling team to participate in the National Road Cycling Championship to be held in Bijapur, Karnataka from January 7 was selected.
