Thick black smoke has been emerging since the beginning of the afternoon from the area of ​​the Lézarde au Lamentin area.

According to our first elements, a major fire broke out inside the Arcole breakage. Thirty vehicles are on fire at the Arcole junkyard.

A woman, present at the site, allegedly tried to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher but was burned by the flames. It was taken care of by the firefighters and sent to the Martinique University Hospital by a VSAV (Victim Relief Vehicle).

The firefighters are on site to try to contain the disaster and are fighting against the fire, indicates the Officer of the Codis (Departmental Operational Center of Fire and Rescue). About twenty men were mobilized, from the barracks of Fort-de-France, Schoelcher, La Trinité, Rivière-Salée and Lamentin.
