A simple control of the municipal police in the city center of Marseille degenerated this Saturday. The officials were violently assaulted by around 30 individuals and had two of their bikes stolen.
An amateur video posted on social networks shows part of this assault. It all started with a simple check this Saturday afternoon in the Noailles district (1st), near rue Saint-Ferréol, the main pedestrian and shopping street. A man who was not wearing a mask refused to submit to the checks and then became virulent.
Reinforcements were requested and quickly arrived, in particular from the national police, since the police were violently attacked by other individuals wanting to fight. In spite of everything, the situation quickly degenerated as it is possible to see it on these amateur images coming from the Snapchat social network. “Get over it! “, launches in particular one of the authors.
The difficult daily life of #police.
A #Marseille, the #Police calls out to an individual.
Onlookers film to provoke.
They take the #police, to push them to the fault.
Then, they end up throwing projectiles, unhappy with no response.

Bicycles found in a trash can
The police were forced to back down as they received projectiles from around 30 hostile individuals. They abandoned two of their bikes, which were kicked and stolen. The man who violently opposed his control was arrested.
The two bikes were later found in a nearby rue de Rome garbage can. There are no injuries to deplore on the side of the police. An investigation has been opened.
