Jeddah: The third Red Sea International Film Festival will begin tomorrow in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The film festival will be notable with famous stars including Katrina Kaif, Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh. The fair will last from tomorrow till December 9.
Around 150 films from different countries will be screened in the fair over ten days. The festival will start with the screening of the film ‘Hawjan’ by prominent Saudi director Yasir Al Yasiri. The main venue is the Jeddah Ritz Carlton Hotel. And the outdoor beach is also specially equipped.
World-class classic films are screened in beautiful vox theaters built with state-of-the-art equipment. Tickets at various rates are available online. The famous Australian director Baz Luhrmann is the chairman of the jury of the festival. Discussions, debates and workshops will be part of the film festival along with film screenings. Apart from films from Saudi Arabia, Arab, African and Asian films and major films from Hollywood will also compete in the competition.
Around 40,000 people are expected to be represented in the fair. Also, around 5,000 filmmakers from various countries including India will be a part of the festival. The Red Sea Film Festival will gain global attention with the presence of prominent English director Guy Ritchie and American actress Sharon Stone. Like the previous year, this time also the presence of Bollywood actors will attract special attention. Mohammed Al Turki, CEO of the Red Sea International Film Festival, said that the Red Sea Souq exhibition, which explains the contribution of Saudi Arabia to art and culture, will also be a part of the fair.
