Third mysterious monolith surfaced | Abroad

Walkers found the monolith on Wednesday, writes The Atascadero News, and reported it on social media. That caused enormous crowds on Pine Mountain the same day, according to the local newspaper: dozens of people climbed the hill to take a photo with the mysterious object.

Unlike the first in Utah, the Atascadero monolith is not firmly anchored to the ground. The column, which weighs approximately ninety kilos, is quite wobbly and can be pushed over. The three-sided object appears to be the product of home craftsmanship, as it is made of stainless steel welded together and screwed onto an internal framework.

The three monoliths appeal to the imagination, because they are reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey. At the beginning of this science fiction film, primeval humans are confronted with a black monolith that stimulates their evolution. However, everything indicates that the three objects in Utah, Romania and now California have an earthly origin and are at best a stimulus for the imagination of social media users.
