Third ‘MLS transfer’ a fact: Leerdam departs from Miami to Los Angeles

Kelvin Leerdam (31) will play for next season LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer. The Suriname international was transfer-free after his departure from Inter Miami and signs a contract for two seasons.

LA Galaxy reports this on Thursday via the official channels. The club has included an option in the contract, with which it can bind Leerdam for one season longer. The defender has been playing in the United States since 2017, where he started at Seattle Sounders. He won several awards there.

Last season, Leerdam played 29 Major League Soccer games for Inter Miami, in which he provided one assist. “Kelvin is an accomplished, championship-winning player and we’re thrilled to have him come to the club,” said LA Galaxy coach Greg Vanney. “His quality brings more depth to our roster and we look forward to him playing an important role in our team.”
